Traditional Pub - Portsmouth/Southampton?

I'm looking for a cosy, traditional pub to go for lunch with my Boyfriend on his birthday this wednesday. If anyone can reccommend any where I would be very greatful! :-) thanks in advance

How about the Still and West, Spice island, Portsmouth/southsea? Fantastic views, lovely fish and within staggering distance of the Railway station at Portsmouth Harbour.

Alternatively, a dream pub is the Jolly Sailor at Bursledon(where they filmed Howard's Way). A most wonderful place but note there are lots of steep steps down to it (unless they've upped the access in the last few years).

I'd be very happy to go to either.
