Traditional costumes during holy week in spain?

in spain there is a week during or before easter that is called HOLY WEEK and they have costumes that are the exact same style but different colors (ex: blue, purple, red, white,black).

If anyone knows why there is so many different colors to it please help

and are they symbolizeing somtething by the different colors

  1. Every different colour or costume represents a different association or group. Every city in Spain has a number of different associations that prepare the "holy week" and each associtation has its own costume. A man that belongs to one of these associations must be buried with this costume when he dies.
