Traditional weapon?

I'm trying to figure out what weapon it is that you commonly see used th rhow around someones feet, it then wraps around them causeing them to fall, what is this called?

There are various weapons of feudal japan that comes to mind.  However, based the vague question posted I can assumed that you are inquiring some sort of "pliable" type of weapons  or weapons that have chain / rope attached to it and could be  used as a "whip".

Here are some I think could be what you might be looking for:

Kyoketsu Shogei ,  Manriki Gusari or Kusari Gama
