Traffic Ticket- california

Question

I have a traffic ticket of which I am contesting. (California)

my court date has been set- and the judge is a man I know very well

any idea what will happen? will it get excused? or will i be assigned a different date??

It depends on him. If you know him very well then you'll know if he's the type of person that will let his personal relationship get in the way with his profession. Is he a compassionate person towards you? Does he have a soft heart? Personally, I think the fact that you know him won't help your case in terms of dropping the ticket (unless you have a really good case). I can imagine the only thing he can do is lower the fine, or expunge that violation from your DMV record (which I doubt).
