I got a traffic ticket while in california about 8 years ago, I cant seem to recall a county or city, I paid the ticket by mail but I do not recall any money taken out of the account. Assuming the ticket was paid off I let it go. I moved to another state but the fact still haunts me even after 8 years if that ticket was taken care off or not, what if there is a bench warrant for traffic violation, I am scared to go get a state ID in my new state or travel anywhere risk getting arrested for nothing. Its just a messed up feeling in my gut that is haunting me, probably is nothing at all. However I have no clue who to contact as I am not sure what city I got the ticket in to take care of this issue. I really need to get a state ID as its been long overdue. Can my new state deny me a state ID if there is an outstanding unpaid ticket in another state?

  1. They will not deny you a state ID, but you will probably not be eligible for a drivers license until you take care fo the problem in California.
