I've applied for a job in Birmingham AL (on Cahaba Valley RD) and was looking for houses. I found one in Harpersville. What would the commute be like timewise?

  1. It won't be TOO bad. Mapquest puts it at about 30 miles and 35 minutes, but traffic around the 119/280 intersection can get pretty bad, as can the traffic anywhere on Cahaba Valley Road. However, even though 280 in Birmingham has some of the worst traffic in Alabama, it doesn't begin to get too horrible until you pass 119- so the traffic between Harpersville and Inverness will be pretty smooth. So moving to Harpersville isn't that bad an idea- and you probably won't see any tractors unless you go east towards Sylacauga. :)

  2. Depends on how many tractors you get behind on your way
