Traffic between Schenectady and Albany, NY?

I'll be moving to Albany, NY in January for school and am currently looking for apartments. My question is: how is the traffic between Schenectady and Albany? Will I be able to commute to school (AMC) from Schenectady without having to wait in traffic for a very long time? Should I just find a place right in Albany?

That early in the morning shouldn't be too bad. The fastest way is the thruway.

if you are coomuting, it make take some time with rush hour traffic and local roads..its not too bad though..
