Traffic in D.C. Area?

I'm going to Alexandria for a job interview. I'm driving up the night before. Trying to figure out when the general time traffic dies down at night.

I'm new to driving stick and there is almost no traffic where i live.

Then the interview is at 10 am. Found out from where i'm staying...map quest says its 10 miles away....30 minute drive.

Trying to get a more realistic estimate of that time during the day. I'm staying with a friend and he's been living there for a while, but doesn't go that direction and is trying to tell me its only going to be 10 minutes.

Thanx

  1. Uh you better add about another 30 to 45 minutes to that estimate if it's during rush hour.
