so i just got ticketed in california for a 22106 cvc or unsafe start becuase after completing a full stop at a stop sign i proceeded to turn left and as my bald tires when over the paint they did a double chirp. as soon as that happened i looked over and an officer was talking to a group of people after the noise he looked up and pulled me over and ticketed me. ... whould this be enough to have my ticket dismissed ?

  1. You didn't say anything that would give a reason for it to be dismissed. Paint on the road doesn't affect anything when it comes to tires.  That paint is tested on tracks for a very long time before being put on the roads and is therefore a non-issue.

So no, you had an unsafe start and got ticketed...no big deal just pay the fine and forget about it.

  2. And replaced with one for driving on unsage equipment (bald tires).

If I were you, I would pay the ticket check for any cops around nexttime you pull away from a stop. If you had seen him, you would have used less force on the throttle I bet, knowing you had bald tires.

  3. not unless you have witnesses that are willing to go to court and state the same thing you are. and if you are young you can forget it.

  4. No, what part of your story would get that dismissed?

  5. Well, you really shouldn't be driving with bald tires, so I wouldn't mention that in court.

However, you could instead tell the judge that one of your rear tires was very low on air, and that's what caused the squeaking, and that you corrected it afterwards. It's also understandable that road paint can be very slippery - indeed, I've had several occasions where I'd stop at a light and I would slide on the painted portion of the crosswalk. Very irresponsible of the city, really.
