Trail names?

Question

Okay, I'm trying to name the horse-back riding trails around my barn. I'm looking for either nature or Native American names (i.e. Willow Path, or War Drum Trail). Any ideas?

Not unless you want it to end up fitting the name some way or another.

Sounds touchy-feely I know, but let the trails tell you.

study the trails and find a specific characteristic about each one

name it that characteristic

   Ex:  Mushroom trail,  Weeping Willow trail,   rocky road,   etc.

Little Tree Trail

Chief Sitting Bull Trail

Great Spirit Overlook Trail (if you have any bluffs)

Tomahawk Trail

Big Dog Trail (there is no word for horse in the Native American language)

Buffalo Trail (some tribes called the Buffalo Tatonka I think)

You could name them after Native American tribes:  Shawnee, Mohawk, Cherokee, Choctaw, Nez Perce, Apache, Arapahoe,  Blackfeet, Cheyenne, Chickasaw, Comanche, Navajo, Seminole, Shoshonee, etc.

It all depends on the features that are on the trails.

umm you could name the trails after the horses at the barn!

Like for example we have a horse named Pontiac

so you could call one of them Pontiacs Pond.

I think something like that would be sweet!

Go down and up the trail a few times. Look at any specific features, like a cave for example, or a weird looking tree something like that. You can also decide if the path is windy or straight, or if it forks. That is how you decide what to name it, it will take a few times to look around and scope, stuff like that. If you want an indian name, try researching what indians used to live there, if some ever did. Or, you can ask people what their experiences were on that trail, if you share the barn. Good Luck!
