Been out on the trails and find myself lost in the bush that I have been riding for the last 5 years due to logging og the pine beelte kill. My favorite trails are now clearcuts and too messed to ride thru. Anyone else have this issue?

  1. I feel your pain,  I ride in Tn every fall, and the clear cutting there has just about ruined it for any trail riders.  Yes and I can get turned around with out even trying, thank goodness for my horses sense of direction.  There was pine beetle clear cuts there too but the rest was actual logging.

  2. It is AWFUL!!!!!!!! Back home(so Cal) we ran into that problem often!! All the city folk want to build everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!  It makes you want to cry...... If you don't mind me asking where you live?? You say logging, OR or WA?? Now I have 151 acres in WY & have all the area I can!

    ****edit***

I've been rididng for 31yrs. sothern CA use to be such a great place to ride.... But I sure can say I have seen it turn into a concrete  jungle.....

Sad! At least they are logging for health of the trees not for the all mighty dollar!!!! I'm sorry to hear!!! I hope your trees end up OK!!!!!

  3. sure have, but we keep going anyway. my horse knows the way home if i get lost

  4. I've had some trails ruined due to logging, it really sucks.  I've just had to find some new trails. I live in central Georgia, US

  5. Completely! I grew up in western Washington (the evergreen state) and there was about 29,000 acres of federal forest behind my house that I would go ride through. They were always logging and I know just what you mean. Just be careful of the logging trucks. I don't know how many times I was nearly hit by one!
