  1. Aachen to Milan takes 9 hr 46 minutes to 12 hr depending on the specific trains. The normal prices vary from 144.20 to 178.40 euro. However, there are some discounted fares for 43 euro. The cheapest fares sell out fast, but there are other discounted options available. The first class discount is usually available and can cost about 50  euro less than the normal 2nd class fare. You will have to change trains at least twice. A return ticket would be twice the price.

Aachen to Bologna takes between 11 hr 37 min and 14 hr depending on the connections. You'll have to change trains 2 to 5 times. http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...

  2. I'd suggest one of these two options:

Go from Aachen to Koln/Cologne  19:05 to 19:45

or   Aachen to Frankfurt  19:39 to 21:30

Then catch the night train to Milano:

Departs Koln at 20:06/ departs Frankfurt at 22:47 (same train)

Arrives in Milano at 7:45 next a.m.

Then to Bologna, catch the 8:00 Eurostar to Bologna, arr. at

    9:42

As for prices, look on the German rail website the other answerer gave you and check if "savings fares" are available on the dates you want to travel.
