If I had been travelling by train/tube in August 1975, where would the journey have taken me - which stations etc? I think there may have been a fire or something at one of the stations, so the journey may have been re-routed?

Or possibly, Birmingham - Norwich, Norwich - Colchester, Colchester - Clacton (although I think that's unlikely). Who can tell after 33 years, other than by possibly searching back numbers of Railway Magazine as they keep a record of such things, how your train was rerouted.
