Question:

Train Conditions Regarding Age

I want to travel from Wigan (Lancashire) to Newton Abbot (Devon) on the train and I'm only 13. Thing is; I dont know whether I'm old enough to travel unaccompanied. I've travelled before alone. But that was using a different train service. Now, I'm travelling via Virgin Trains. Thanks for your help.

  1. There is no rules about the age at which a child might travel unaccompanied on trains in the UK, so yes you can make the journey. However, it would be wise for your parents to notify the train company(ies) involved and arrage for the Traim Manager to keep a friendly eye on you.
