Ok, I'm thinking of going to Congleton sometime in the next three or so weeks, and I'll be going from Chorley/Preston area.

Does anyone know:

How much it will cost

How long it will take

&

Where I will need to change?

I will qualify for a half if I lie, but please put both child and adult prices if possible :)

Thanks Alot In Advance!!

  1. A good travel planner to use in the UK is:

    http://www.transportdirect.info/Web2/Hom...

Works door to door or station to station or whatever combination you prefer.

It finds several different places called Chorley and several called Preston, so I can not help you farther in this, (it will help you better because you know which town you mean.)

When you use it, it will tell you trains, busses and coach alternatives if you set the options to show those too.

  2. train every 2hrs Via Manchester  cheapest online single 14.40

  3. You'll change at Manchester Piccadilly.

Adult fares (it doesn't give child ones):

Saver single £14.40, Saver return £14.90

Standard single £15.40, Standard return £16.80.

Trains take 44 minutes from Chorley to Piccadilly, then you have 19 minutes to get to a cross-country train, which takes 29 minutes to Congleton.
