Train Ride to Los Angeles?

I'm going from Palm Springs to Los Angeles, is the train ride somewhat of a scenic route?

If you have an appointment, don't take the train. The food is fantastic, by the way. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

which runs only 3 times a week

i took the train up to seattle and we were a day late.  i do not recommend the train.  since congress voted to cut funding, the food is terrible and the train has to stop every hour to let other trains pass so it takes forever!  i recommend taking a plane.
