  1. Try National Rail enquiries. Below is their web site:

    http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

  2. www.nationalrail.co.uk!!!

  3. Best to ask at your local Station. Decide what type of ticket you need and where you are travelling to first, then When and if you are coming back, how many of you, any children, any discount cards. Once Done, ask. The Ticket Clerk will have all the information at his console and will be able to advise you on your best and cheapest routes (As laid down in the ATOC regulations), from there they can help you by informing routes, times etc to fit your requirements.

Just try not to go in during the peak times to find out!

If you are going on a long trip remember to get in at least 6 weeks in advance for the cheapest fares.

  5. http://www.thetrainline.com/default.asp

  6. These are your main train companies operating services to/from London.

Best place for advice is your local station as they can search for the best fare for your journey.

Also this is a very good independent site:

  7. definately thetrainline.com.  You have to register to find out prices, but here's a great tip to get really cheap tickets - search for single tickets (there and back).  Where I live, to get to London peak times on a standard day return costs £99, or from £8 each way on the same train if I order in advance.

I always buy train tickets this way - they deliver really quickly too.

  9. www.gner.co.uk
