Train from new york to new jersey?

does any one know how to take the train from new york city to lakewood nj. what is the nearest station? and how do i get there after i get off the train?

Although New Jersey Transit trains connect New York City to many points in suburban New Jersey, Lakewood isn't one of them.  The nearest NJT station is probably a half hour away at Point Pleasant.   Here's the NJT website:

A better choice is to go by bus.  I believe that there are commuter buses from NYC to Lakewood operated by Academy.  Here's a link to their website:
