  1. hope you don't scare anyone to death !

  2. I have never seen or "heard" a bad Leslie, unless it needs new diaphragms.  I have several sets of both Nathan and Leslies and love them all.

The nominal air pressure for all USA locomotive horns is 150 PSI.  You can run them on as little as about 50 PSI at a greatly reduced output, but running them on more than 150 will shorten the life of the diaphragms.

I'm pretty sure we had R3's on most of our EMD MP15 switcher locomotives at the Soo.

I have a newly rebuilt Nathan "P" series 5 chimer under the hood of my Ford Windstar and currently use 3, 50 pound Freon tanks as reservoirs.  When they get low I pump them up at home or at the local truck stop to 160 PSI.  Just love finding excuses to toot them on my daily commute.

Best wishes to you on your endeaver, it is an amazing thrill to command horns of this caliber among the general public.
