  1. Ripon hasnt had a rail station since the Beeching cutbacks of the 1960s, despite being quite a substantial town. The nearest stations in the area are Harrogate or Knaresborough. I dont know about the buses, but suspect that they wont be that good  because North Yorkshire doesnt have as good a subsidy plan as South or West Yorkshire.  Check at the local bus station by all means, but I think your best bet here is undoubtedly the car.

  2. car is best, more maneuverability

  3. Car

  4. id say car ripon-harrogate and then train for york and leeds

    =]

  5. bus and rail servicwes into and round ripon are not that good or relaiable i would say your best using a car, which you would need to do shopping etc aswell as ripon is very restircted for choice
