I was on a train last week from London to Colchester with a seat reservation for Coach C Seat 20A, and there was a woman there who had Coach C Seat 20 yet the seats go 19, 20, 21, etc. There is no 20A, does anyone know what the A means?

  1. A means Airline, as in Airline style seating.

  2. The letter A stands for "Airline type of seat", which means the seats with no tables.

  3. It means Airline as in 2 seats together either side of the Aisle like on an aeroplane rather that T for table.

  4. Airline type seat...no table

  5. Aisle ?

  6. The A seats are the cramped no Table seat at the ends of the carrages. Above the seats should be a tag with your name on and also a number chart by the luggage rack for further guidance like on an aircraft.

    Hope this helps
