  1. Along with using Amtrak's website to plan your trip you might also want to visit North Carolina's very own passenger rail website, a great resource with lots of info.

  2. lots of train station but you would have to take 3 trains

one to DC one to Chicago and then another one to Seattle

(or spokane) depending where in North Calorinia you start and where in washigton state you want to end up

    all done by amtrak

it will take youi about 3-4 days to this trip

    see

    amtrak.com for info

  3. yes, there are train stations in north carolina.  there also are stations in washington state.

you need to be more specific, what actual cities/towns are you trying to travel between?

use the actual towns, not the nearest cities that you think might have service.  amtrak serves small rural towns as well as big cities, so use your actual town names and then amtrak (or us) can tell you the nearest train stations.

update your question, then we can help you better.

or go to north carolina's rail web site, or go to www.amtrak.com to figure this out yourself. there is a function to "find station" and the computer will tell you where the nearest stations are, how far away, and show you maps and driving directions too!

the actual fare will depend on your city pairs, your travel dates, the space you use on the train (coach or sleeper), and how early in advance you make reservations.  you will HAVE to contact amtrak on web, by phone, or at depot, to find out the fare for your desired itinerary.  no one on YA can tell you fares.
