  3. Theres no direct line, but you can take a train to belgium then down to paris then from there to the spanish border then down to barcelona. There are some maps on the internet.  I imagine this would take at least a day or two just to get that far. You werent really specific about where in spain you wanted to go.

  4. There are no through trains to Europe from north of London. When the Channel Tunnel was being built there was a plan to run services from Scotland and the North of England and from Wales and the West of England and, indeed, stock was built. However, for one reason and another the services never commenced and the stock was sold off to Canada without turning a wheel in the UK. Like so many things, London gets preferential treatment over the rest of the UK. Your best way is a service from Leeds to Kings X, then walk over to St Pancras International for the Eurostar, then change again in Paris. As to how long it will take, would depend  on whereabouts in Spain you want to travel to. But, of course, having read this and what others say, you won't bother, but will jump on an EasyJet from Leeds/ Bradford. And they say they want to cut down on air travel.

  5. Travel from London to Algeciras by train.

Take Eurostar to Paris, board the 'trainhotel' sleeper train to Madrid. Take an afternoon express across Andalusia to Algeciras on the Straits of Gibraltar.
