Trainco oil combi boiler wiring the heating programmer?

I have brought a 7 day 1 channel salus programmer for the heating only and the boiler wiring states it needs a perment live for the hot water which is not a problem then there is live neutral and earth do these wires go to the programmer and to what numbers help thanks.

  1. Hard to answer without model of the boiler & timer. THE BEST ADVISE IS TO GET SOMEONE IN TO DO IT, would not take more than 20 Min's if timer is fitted close to boiler and materials minimal (bit of HR flex).

    But if your going to do it, here's the most common. Leave the live neutral and earth connected to the boiler you will need a live and neural to power the timer this can be joined from LNE block in the boiler, Most models of trianco have a link in a terminal block inside the boiler (marked c/h or r/s) that is removed and one side of the linked terminal wired to terminal 3 in the timer and the other side of where the link was connected wired to terminal 4 in the timer (if timer is mod num ep101).

    Yeah i'll prolly get flammed by others for tryin to help :)


  2. I had the same problem with a Bosch oil combi that I fitted for my daughter; I bought the plug in unit specific for that boiler.

  3. You definitely need a neutral at the programmer, or the clock won't work. The new programmer should have wireing instructions with it, and probably a small wireing plan on the back of the clock.
