Trainer, Paul Nicholls to rise against the betting twists in the Hennessy Gold Cup with Tidal Bay
Something that the champion trainer, Paul Nicholls, has hardly ever experienced came around as the slight decline in the betting for his entry in the Saturday’s Hennessy Gold Cup. The down low of the betting trend was observed on Monday, however, the fame and popularity that the trainer has accumulated throughout the professional tenure has gifted him with the support of the fans who are positive of his success once again.
The genius of his profession has monopolised the last four Saturdays and has sent in Tidal Bay for destroying the field of the ’Super Saturday’ of the National Hunt season.
"Tidal Bay definitely runs and we will be keeping an eye on the weather for Harry The Viking. The forecast is for it to dry up a bit so we could well be okay."
"The gamble on Tidal Bay has similarities with the successful plunge on Al Ferof a fortnight ago. The Paul Nicholls supporters are already out in full force and we're not going to apologise for evasive action. The ante-post money has been spot-on in recent weeks and a win for Tidal Bay would certainly be expensive."
The trainer has won the Hennessy three times before, with Strong Flow in 2003, and then with the dual champion, Denman, in 2007 and then in 2009.
His under charge who showed the betting pattern that the stable is normally used to is, Michel Le Bon.
The clerk at the racing venue, Newbury, stated: "There is the slight possibility of a light shower on Tuesday morning but from then on we are looking at a cold but dry forecast for the remainder of the week, with temperatures possibly dipping just below freezing overnight on Friday.”
The eleven-year-old bay gelding, Tidal Bay, has been unbeaten in the last two outings and is highly likely to bring it forth to a hat-trick through the Saturday outing.
Flemensfirth’s bay gelding won the Grade 3 Bet365 Gold Cup Chase (Handicap) on 28th April, 2012 at Sandown race course and then landed the winner’s prize money of the Grade 2 John Smith’s Hurdle on 3rd November, 2012 at Wetherby race course.
The arch rival trainer, Nicky Henderson missed the Betfair Chase title at Haydock when he sent his hopeful, Long Run, at the hands of the Paul Nicholls’ trained, Silviniaco Conti.
