Trainer D D Knight’s Roses Rockin’s far-fetched victory made him win the purse in, the Coral On TV Maiden Trophy Final
On the 9th of September, the dirt of Romford racing track gave six hounds a chance to win the Coral On TV Maiden Trophy Final.
The 400 meters race declared one lucky hound, with his trainer, the winner of the race among the pack of dogs.
Roses Rockin’s splendid performance helped him win the purse worth £750, which made trainer D D Knight to push the boat out for him.
Roses Rockin, the second prize winner of the Coral On TV Maiden Trophy's Heat 1, was defeated by Springwood Maeve by 3 lengths on the 5th of September, 2011, but this time with his get up and go attitude, he gave an amazing hit against the champs
of the Coral On TV Maiden Trophy's Heats.
Wearing black and white jacket, the black dog raced from trap 3 with a superb pace.
Although the 10/1 favourite tactlessly got bumped in, he managed to get through the hassle and later on started leading the race through 1 whole length.
When the hound was left with few lengths to cross the wire, he again got bumped in by two lengths, but railed as fast as he could to win by reaching the finish line in 24.56 seconds.
Defeating Droopys Lorenzo by 4 ½ length was also an achievement for Roses Rockin, because the 9/4 favourite of the Coral On TV Maiden Trophy's Final was the purse winner in the Coral On TV Maiden's Heat 1 against Roses Rockin.
The black dog, Droopys Lorenzo, chased the lure as trap 4 opened for him.
The one-year-old, wearing black and white jacket, kept himself in the middle of his contenders, suddenly getting bumped in badly by 1 length.
Even though he kept on running, the circumstances forced him to finish second for trainer D Childs in 24.92 seconds.
Placing himself third in the Coral On TV Maiden Trophy's Final, the brindle dog, Murlens Houdini, was 4 ¼ lengths behind when Droopys Lorenzo finished his quest for the prize.
The 6/4 favourite, Murlens Houdini, was the Heat 3 winner against five hounds, but in the finals he was able to finish third for trainer P M Donovan.
He covered his distance in 25.26 seconds in which he got baulked twice, by 1 and 1/2 lengths.
The trap 6 racer, Murlens Houdini, was being followed by Full House, a shoulder away from him.
The white and blue dog, Full House, was placed second in Heat 2 by Droopys Lorenzo, but this time he managed to reach the wire at fourth position.
The 3/1 favourite, under G Andreas’s training, railed through trap 1 with a sluggish pace, chasing the lure.
He eventually got baulked twice by 1 and ¾ lengths, reaching the wire in 25.27 seconds.
Springwood Maeve faced hard luck throughout the race. The much expected winner, trained by B D O’Sullivan, was a 6/1 favourite of the event.
Wearing orange and black jacket, the two-year-old railed through trap 5 with a swift and speedy chase.
While preceding towards the finish line, he got bumped in twice, by 1 and 3 lengths, and then he tragically got baulked by 3 lengths.
Covering the distance in 25.65 seconds, he was declared as the last one to reach the line, finishing fifth.
The event entailing a total prize money of £1050, rewarded £750 to the winner, while the hound who finished second was rewarded £100 and the rest of the three hounds took £50 each, back home.
