Trainer J Andrews led the BGRF Owners Bonus Series by two victories at Belle Vue on 22nd December
On 22nd December, in the BGRF Owners Bonus Series at Belle Vue, J Andrews dominated the event, as out of three heats, two went into his account, the first and the third. One was claimed by Borna Lunc, and the other was conquered by Romeo Region.
Each of the heats was raced over a distance of 470 metres, and awarded a prize money of £106 to the winner.
The first heat had entries from J Andrews, H Adamson, B Heaton, P Gregson, D Hampson and J B Thompson.
The race was won by J Andrews’s Borna Lunc, who rushed through the race track in 28.45 second, and was joined by Quinta Brigada, trained by H Adamson, as the next behind him. The hound finished the distance in 28.61 seconds and left the dog who broke from
the fifth stall, Swift Lewis, behind by 1 ½ length.
Swift Lewis made it to the wire in 28.73 seconds.
Wellfield Poppy was fourth, with Owlett Buster finishing fifth, while Taylors Sea came sixth.
The next heat presented an opportunity to trainers, A Heyes, R Fielding, J McCombe and K A Harris. This time the positions were revered in a manner that J Andrews’s entry, Villiers End, was the last hound to leave the track.
The race was won by Magna Special, trained by A Heyes. The son of Kiowa Sweet out of Madam Grace shot across the wire in 28.22 seconds, and was almost instantly followed by Bellamore Lad, who was at a distance of ½ a length, making it to the other end of
the wire in 28.26 seconds.
Securing the third position in the race was R Fielding’s Devious Rumble, who raced through the wire in 28.68 seconds. Blue Blood was fourth, while Starmount Swift came fifth.
The third and final heat had two entries from J Andrews, Romeo Region, who won the race by making it through the wire in 28.05 seconds, and Noirs Peach, who left the racing field when the rest of the lot was done with the race.
The runner up of the race was Low Wood Gift, who is trained by H Adamson, and managed the track distance in 28.41 seconds.
He was joined by Starmount Jake, who went rushing through the wire in 28.45 seconds, and positioned fifth in the race was Dacent Acorn.
Thus, the BGRF Owners Bonus Series went in favour of J Andrews with two of his entries winning two heats, between whom, Romeo Region was able to clock the least time, 28.05 seconds.
