Trainer Todd Pletcher notches 3,000th win with no indications of stopping just with this much
Trainer Todd Pletcher became the twenty-sixth trainer to have notched 3,000thwin in the history of thoroughbred racing. It was on 11th February at Gulfstream Park that his three-year-old, Spring Hill Farm claimed
victory by 1 ¼ length. The colt had jockey John Velazquez onboard while racing.
“It gives you a little time to reflect," Pletcher said. "There’s not many opportunities to reflect in this business, but milestones like this gives you a chance to appreciate all of them."
“It’s been a great run. We’ve been very fortunate–a lot of great owners, a lot of great horses, tremendous help, a tremendous staff,” Pletcher said. “It’s been a lot of fun.”
Todd Pletcher is not very far away from his ninth straight training title at the Gulfstream Park. Besides hitting the 3,000th landmark, the event tallied a fortieth time that Todd Pletcher had stepped into the winners’ enclosure
at the Gulfstream Park this season.
The trainer has won the Eclipse Award five times already, from 2004 to 2007, and then again in 2010.

The breakdown of Todd Pletcher’s major victories credits five-thirty-seven to New York tracks and three-twenty-four at Saratoga.
The first horse ever to bestow the top of the line, and genius of his profession trainer with victory, was Majestic Number at the same track where Todd Pletcher set his record of 3,000 victories. It was at Gulfstream Park on 26th January,
1996.
"It gives you a little time to reflect," said Pletcher. "There's not many opportunities to reflect in this business, but milestones like this gives you a chance to appreciate all of them."
The list that has Hall of Famer, trainer Jack Van Berg at the top due to his 6, 410 successes through the career, ranks Todd Pletcher seventeenth. Jack Van Berg’s trainees have earned him $213.8 million in prize money.
In 2007, his horse, Rags To Riches, won the Belmont Stakes which made Rags To Riches the first filly to dominate the final leg of the Triple Crown in 102 years.
The trainer has not mentioned any plans whatsoever of not planning for any further milestones during his career, for him it might just be the beginning.
