Trainers to battle again in the Group 2, Al Maktoum Challenge Round II on 9th February at the Meydan
The trainers who are gifted with ace runner for almost all the races being held at the 2012 Dubai World Cup Carnival, are now rolling up their sleeves for the Group 2, Al Maktoum Challenge Round II on 9th February at Meydan
which is to be raced over 1 3/16 miles.
The most prominent trainers who have the highlighting entries for the event include Mahmood Al Zarooni, Saeed bin Suroor, the South African trainer M De Kock, and the Singapore based trainer, Steven Burridge.
M De Kock is letting lose, Bold Silvano, and Master Of Hounds in the 1 3/16 miles event for the second round of the Al Maktoum Challenge. He plans to pair Bold Silvano with Christophe Soumillon, and Kevin Shea will be onboard Master Of Hounds.
"Bold Silvano has been off for a year and has obviously had his problems - thus he missed the big race last year. He has been given plenty of time to recover and has really pleased us in the preparation but, after a lot of consideration, we decided
the 1m is the ideal place to bring him back after a year off.
He further went on to say:
"We have Master Of Hounds in the Maktoum Challenge and there seems little point running them against each other now; if all goes to plan they will clash on Super Saturday in Maktoum Challenge III
and then the World Cup."
On 12th January, it was M De Kock trained, Musir, who won the Group 3, Al Maktoum Challenge Round I. The Godolphin team was placed third, fourth and twelfth on 12th January through the entries of both
Mahmood Al Zarooni and Saeed bin Suroor.
This time around, for the second round, the Godolphin trainers have borne in mind to stay prepared with the challenge by entering Biondetti, Dubai Prince, Casamento, Prince Bishop and Pisco Sour.
The first three entries are from the most successful trainer throughout the Carnival till yet, Mahmood Al Zarooni, while the latter two are from the stables of Saeed bin Suroor.
Steven Burridge trained, Dark Matter, has not been defeated through the first two starts of the new season, and would try for the third time on 9th February in the Group 2, Al Maktoum Challenge Round II, and in case he does
dominate the challenge, then he would be in for a hat-trick.
Yet again the 2012 Dubai World Cup Carnival is staging an event that has got trainers throughout the globe yearning for success, and thus lining up such diversified talent.
