Training for spring track?

i run the 400 mainly, sometimes the 200. my coach (whos also the xc coach) has been yelling at me cause i decided to run on my own and mix in working out at the gym, instead of doing xc. which one would benefit my running the most?

  1. wow this is so wierd because i mainly run 400 and 200 and my coach is also the xc coach haha.

    i think you would benefit from doing xc the most. my 9th grade year was the first year i did track and i was only decent. i hadnt ran a 400 that year, but my fastest 200 was about 24.2 seconds. the next fall i ran cross country and did nothing over the winter. my time dropped to a 22.92 my sophmore year. i still hadn't ran a 400. during the summer, after track had ended i decided to try a 400. i went out with my coach and he clocked me at 50.0.

    i give soooo much credit to cross country. do it for sure


  2. cross country for the 400 but the gym will do for 200 and if you really work hard both just depends on you

  3. cross country would truly benefit more, however the gym is good too, which is what i do, i run and add in gym workouts. its better becuase u are working more muscles.
