Training male kitten...

Hello, i posted a similar question a few days ago, but people really didnt get it, so im going to make this a bit more specific.

the kitten is male, hes 2 months, learned how to use his claws about a week ago. right now im teaching him to climb up and down trees, and i wrestle with him with loud crow noises in the background.

when he gets older, hes going to persue female cats rather than birds.

how do i get him to bring me "presents" on my driveway rather than go for lady cats?

(in the previous question, it was stated his designation is to hunt crows and other birds.)

  1. Did you name you cat Lunch?  Any cat that tries to hunt a Crow or Raven is going to end up just that, lunch.

I doubt you can train you cat as to WHERE to leave it's presents.

And as the other person said, neuter him if you don't want him going after females.

  2. I have had several cats.  I don't think you can train them to bring you presents.  either they do or they don't.  I had one that brought me all kinds of dead animals, but he was the only one out of maybe a dozen.

  3. Don't want him going after female cats? Neuter him.

Although the idea of having your cat hunt for you might be appealing (though I find it appalling), you should keep his safety in mind. Dead animals can bring all types of problems, such as parasites (mites, tapeworm, fleas, ticks, roundworm, ringworm) and small bones easily choked on.

  4. Neutering would work and to make the cat more aggressive toward birds u should show the kitty a dead bird and maybe even get the kitty chicken flavored food... sorta up in the air with that answer but who knows?
