  1. Is your boyfriend supportive of your skating? If he loves you, he'll understand that your skaing is important to you, and will not mind that you need to train whenever you can. That being said, skating can make living life hard, and if skating becomes too much and takes too much of a toll on your life, there are other things. You seem very serious about skating, and if this is just a "fling" it might not be worth it, but if you really like him you should ignore your coach. My coach used to get so mad at me for having boyfriends, but in the end, you have to live life too.

  2. well which do u like more       i like figure skating more cause i dont feel like im talkin to a brick wall          nhard work pays off

  3. I think it is a pretty good scheduale but u will need to catch up on school work. I wish u best of luck @ the olympics!

  4. Most people training for the Olympics do not even train 16 hours a day.  That seems like too much.  How do you have time to do anything else?  I don't know how old you are, but you should probably consider getting more involved in school and make more time to hang out with friends.  I understand that skating is very important to you, but anything could happen.  Growth spruts, injuries, and other unforseen circumstances can change your plans in an instant.  When you get older you will regret spending your intire childhood training for something that sadly you may never even accomplish.  I think you should cut back on your training.  Even the best skaters usually take a day off each week.  You should not break up with your boyfriend just because your coach tells you too.  If all you do is focus on skating, you will find yourself looking back on your life in five or ten years and feel bad that you never got to to what "normal" kids did.  This is what happened to me.

  5. I get that your coach is a gold medalist and i respect that, but when my coach said the same thing and I actually took her advice, I felt so unhappy afterwards. I mean sure, I had more time to train but is it really worth the extra 3 hours or so a week? I really loved skating and then going back and telling him about it. As a skater, he would give me advice and I'm regretted my decision. Luck for me, he understood my mistake and we are stronger than ever but not all guys are so forgiving.

I blabbed there a little about my own life ( sorry :P ) but I hope a different point of view will help make this call.

    goodluck

  6. Sorry, but I think you are exagerrating quite a bit. A lot of top level skaters only spend 3-4 hours on the ice a day.

  7. What does your boyfriend think of your skating? I think that having a boyfriend is a normal part of being a teenager, and even though you may be very serious about skating that you still have to have a somewhat normal life. I think that you should decide what is best for you. Good luck!

  8. Are you serious?  Even gymnasts don't train that much. Take a break or you'll be burned out, injured, and broke before Olympic season. But I honestly find it hard to believe. And that boyfriend won't do any harm unless he literally prevents you from training. Athletes are people too, they have lives.

(If that's true you only get 6 hours of sleep at most, which would prevent you from being able to even skate that much.)
