Does Anyone Know Whether There Is A Train That Goes Straight From Manchester To Newcaslte Without Having To Change At York Or Change At All ??

My daughter recently visited us by train from Manchester and I am pretty sure she had to change at Leeds. She had different options ,but I am sure they all involved a change.Try the Virgin rail web.

Express Bus go direct from Manchester to Newcy, maybe not as fast, but cheaper.

If you are traveling Monday to Saturday there is a direct service every hour at 27 minutes past the hour every hour so it would be 13:27, 14:27, 15:27 an so on.

On a sunday the time is slightly differant but there is still a direct service this runs at 42 minutes past the hour every hour so it would be 13:42, 14:42, 15:42.

There is an hourly service from Manchester Airport to Newcastle through most of the day. These call at Manchester Piccadilly, departing (Mon-Fri) 0539, 0712, 0725, 0825, 0925, 1027, 1127, 1227, 1327, 1527, 1725, 1942, 2142, all operated by First Transpennine. Trans Pennine Express from Manchester Piccadilly at xx27 and the journey takes app. 2h 45minutes on a weekday. They also run at weekends subject to engineering works.
