Trains from manchester to london- i need to go to heathrow from manchester on train just for day in june?

does anyone know if they go from manchester to heathrow airport? and how much am i looking at? thanx

I can almost guarantee that going by train will cost more than flying.  Check out bmi (British Midland) for some very reasonable airfares.

Otherwise, it's Manchester to London on Virgin Trains, London Euston to London Paddington on the underground, and then Paddington to Heathrow on the Heathrow Express train (not London Victoria to Heathrow, Victoria is where you get the train to Gatwick Airport).

Its not possible to get a direct train. There are 2 ways of getting there. 1st manchester airport to manchester piccadilly>manchester piccadilly to london Euston>walk to Euston square tube station get a tube  to Paddington then the heathrow express to the airport. Or get to  manchester piccadilly then a train to birmingham new street, birmingham new street to reading then the railair link to heathrow airport. But if you're travelling between airports why dont get the shuttle from manchester airport to heathrow going by train will probably cost you as much as flying.

Easiest way is to get a Virgin train from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston.

The get the tube to London Paddington.

Then get the Heathrow Express from Paddington to Heathrow.

I think you can only do this journey via london euston then tube to london victoria wher you can get the heathrow express it would cost about £31 to get to victoria  and back but dont know about Heathrow express from victoria to Heathrow Thats buying two single tickets  at £15.50 each ,as it would be more like £70 for a return ticket . try and book an APEX ticket
