Tran Duy Khoi pockets Men’s 200m IM gold – Vietnam Swimming Championships
Tran Duy Khoi of HCM pocketed gold medal of the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on last day of the 2012 Vietnam Swimming Championships at the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, September 16.
The 15-year-old Khoi lived up to the expectations of his supporters as he overpowered his opponents in a ruthless manner and proved his supremacy for gold medal of the event.
Khoi remained in a significant lead over his closest challenger and hit the finishing wall for gold medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 06.23 seconds.
The gold medallist was trailed by Pham Thanh Ngu of LAN, who remained 5.51 seconds away from his foregoing finisher and secured silver medal of the event by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 11.74 seconds.
The silver medallist was chased by Nguyen Ng Huyn of DNI, who was 1.04 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall as third best finisher by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 12.78 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Phan Gia Man of HCM, who remained 0.40 seconds away from upsetting his preceding finisher and emerged on the finishing end for fourth position by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 13.18 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the race was obtained by Tran Dang Phuo of QDI, who remained 5.06 seconds behind and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 18.24 seconds.
Phuo remained almost four seconds ahead of Do Van Hieu of LAN, who proved his eligibility for sixth position of the event by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 22.69 seconds.
Subsequently, Hieu remained full body length ahead of Nguyen Van Tha of DNG, who occupied seventh best spot of the race by touching the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 23.54 seconds.
Eighth finest spot of the discipline was obtained by Nguyen Van San of QTI, who failed to surpass any of his opponents and posted a time of 2 minutes and 24.16 seconds.
In addition, Duy was delighted after securing the title of the race.
