I have a 01' chevy tracker that has about 150k on it. when i was driving it the reverse went out. now some people have said that all i might need is a flush but i wanted some other opinions before i go spend the money. any suggestions. all fluids look cold good but i cant start it without jumping it because someone let the battery drain wayyyyyy down.

  1. if there is no reverse, you need a tranny rebuild, no amount of flushes or fluid/filter changes will fix it........

  2. you gotta be kidding, a flush wont get your reverse back. get it to a shop and have it rebuilt, figure around two grand parts and labor

  3. The need to jump start indicates a bad battery - which has nothing to do with the reverse going out of the transmission! At 150,000 miles you are going to have to either replace the transmission or have a qualified person rebuild it because there is no easy fix, and transmissions have a designed life expectancy of 120,000 to 150,000 miles.
