Trans-Canada rail travel...anyone done the full across-Canada trip by train? Worth the price?

Starting to plan a trip with my best friend--for next year [we need to save our sad weak little US dollars up!] and would like personal accounts, both good & bad, about this kind of trip.

OOOOOOOOOOOOoooo I am SO JEALOUS that you are considering such a trip!!!  I would dearly LOVE to do the trip, I've watched videos and shows and such about it, and, especially the part through the Rockies, it promises to be a wonderous trip!  I'm pretty sure it goes through the Banff region, too, which is one of those places you promise yourself to visit before you die kind of things!  

Hey... I have some Canadian coinage if you'd like... I can send you it to spend!!!  HAHAHA!!  At least it will be worth SOMETHING up there!
