Trans Sonic expected to bounce back in Southwell-racecourse.co.uk Claiming Stakes
Trans Sonic is likely to make a strong comeback in the Southwell-racecourse.co.uk Claiming Stakes, being held at Southwell on Tuesday, April 17th.
The nine-year-old was below par in his last two appearances. After displaying a dismal performance at the end of last month, the gelding failed to improve his work.
In his most recent outing earlier this month, the David O'Meara-trained was unable to do anything special and as a result, finished 11th in the Pin Point Recruitment Handicap at Catterick.
Since most of his rivals are out of form, it looks an ideal chance for him to get back to his best. So far in his career, the Mrs Lynne Lumley-owned has registered 10 victories.
He does not have much time to gear up, as the show is about to commence. According to the plan, the 1m3f event will start at 15:10 GMT.
There are eight speedy runners in the line-up, who will compete for a cash prize worth £1,704. Their names are: Trans Sonic, Doctor Zhivago, Jack Dawkins, Maslak, Irish Jugger, Polurrian and Centre Stage.
Trans Sonic has an obvious chance, but it would not be an easy outing for the experienced gelding.
Doctor Zhivago displayed a fine performance on his seasonal return last week. Racing on Monday 23rd April Handicap saw him missing the runner-up place by ½ a length.
It was a decent performance especially after a few poor shows last year. The five-year-old failed to resume his journey on a winning note, but he would be determined to do well.
Another runner with fair chances is Jack Dawkins, trained by David Nicholls. The seven-year-old was not impressive last time out, as he finished 10th in the Pin Point Recruitment Handicap last week.
The son of Fantastic Light did a great job in his second last appearance, topping the chart by one and a quarter lengths in the Biggest Free Bets With Freebetting.com.uk Handicap.
Trans Sonic is most likely to make a solid return. However, he cannot afford to be complacent, as Jack Dawkins is capable of springing up a surprise. We wish the best of luck to all runners.
