has anyone ever been on one? If so, What was it like being out at sea all those days? Are they'll plenty of activities to do on the ship? What about when you get to your final destination can you take another cruise back home or would you have to fly? I was thinking of taking a cruise from Florida coast to somewhere across the Atlantic that will stop in Italy.....Please any information or pass experiences will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  1. The best transatlantic Cruise Line is Cunard and the Queen Mary 2 was built with a deep draft and speed to make it the premier deep water ship.

Other large ships do repositioning cruises that go across the atlantic that you might want to check into.

Go to www.cruisecritic.com and you can see all the good and not so good points of each cruise line and each cruise ship.

    good luck.

  2. We have been on the QE2 who offered the option of flying one way and cruising back or vice versa.  On this occasion, we cruised on the ship for 28 days, the middle part was to several ports down the coast from UK to Portugal, France, 3 ports in Spain, Morocco, Italy, etc.

There's something quite thrilling about seeing the Statue of Liberty in the early morning, that's always the time they come into NYC.  It's also a nice way to wind down from the various ports you've been to or, alternatively you could consider land travel, see lots more and then book a cruise that's returning from a European port.

There are many options which are worth exploring, you'll just have to decide how much time & money you have.  You might start by exploring the following excellent website.

Here's one that's an exceptional value and if you want further tips on how to do this, send me an email and I'll show you how we did it.

  3. If you are under 75, please don't take this cruise.

I worked for Holland America  Cruise line.

A Trans Atlantic cruise is long, very quite, and  boring.

Think about it.  Not a lot of young people can afford to take that much time off and spend that much money on a cruise that doesn't go to any ports.

The Disco's all close early cause no one is partying.  Everyday there is a time change at 2 o'clock, so everyones off on the time.
