  1. Unfortunately, only good reviews I've heard about transatlantic cruises all came from the older cruisers. And a couple that my wife knows (who are in their 60s) just took a cruise from England to US on the Seabourn and they loved the quiet and relaxing cruise. ( Of course Seabourn is a luxury class cruise, few notches above the Carnivals and the Royal Caribbeans)

I'm not a big fan of days at sea, because it can get boring and dull.  I am in my 30s so I would rather have lot of ports and excursions to do.  Atlantic crossing can be 15 days at sea with maybe 2 or 3 stops in between. That is too long for me.

You would have to cruise on a larger ship with lot of amenities to keep you occupied.

But if you like the quiet and restful and relaxing cruise then maybe TransAtlantic cruise is what you are looking for.

Just avoid the Atlantic Hurricane Season... you do not want to be out in the middle of the ocean in a hurricane, no matter how big the ship is.  Almost all large cruise lines have transatlantic cruises, such as Royal Princess, Constellation on Celebrity, QE2, Splendour of the Seas on Royal Caribbean.  Check out the actual cruisers' reviews on these websites to get a better handle on the cruise.

    Good luck.

  2. i have never been on one but from wat my travel agent has told me they are quite dull although if you are into exploring the cruise ship and using it as your vacation instead of ports of call it would be very good as many have spas, movies, shows lots of food, gyms, shopping, golfing etc! happy cruising :)
