  1. I know this is different but look at bass pro underwater camera. I checked it out today an saw every frish (i think) within 150 feet. That was at a 40 foot depth.

  2. They exist.

Check the part "Raymarine B744V Bronze Thru Hull Triducer" at this website:

    http://www.marinegeneral.com/acatalog/Tr...

I'm sure there are several other manufacturers too.

  3. Go to kayakfishingstuff.com or newenglandkayakfishing.com you find in the forums how to mount transducer inside hull. Almost all modern transducers work fine through hulls, I have a sit on top and actually have mine mounted through scupper.

  4. most transducer see quite clearly through a fibreglass hull. especially seeing as though the thickness of the kayaks hull would be minimal compared to a boats hull thickness. you will have to follow the manufacturers recommendations as the placement is critical. to much of an incline and it wont work, any places with sufficient cavitation or under-hull trapped air will affect its performance. finally, make sure you create a complete join with the transducer face and the hull any air that gets trapped here and it'll stop.

all you need to do then is work out the power supply arrangement.....
