Question:

Transfer Album to CD. Cheap. No Computer. Got a way or store?

I recently purchased 3 vinyl albums and I would love to be able to get them onto a CD so I could use them outside of my house. Is there a good store that is nationally available to transfer them? Are there any cheap machines that can do this?

  1. I don't know how to do that without a computer or any stores who does it. However, you might be able to find some starving musician to it for you somewhere.

The process ywould be very easy. Use audio software like, audition or even better Soundforge (which costs money), and use a phono to stereo mini jack (you can probably get one from radioshack) and just record it from your soundcard. Try to record it 16 bit and and with the higghest possible kHz sampling. Record Wavefiles or AIFF because it has no compression. CD has 41 kHz, so try to double that rate for sampling it. Then convert it to tracks for CDs. Soundforge does this automatically, but idk about audition.

And there are record players that now come with USB for connecting to PCs. Haven't tried one, but they are supposed to have some software that is bundled with them.

    Good luck.
