Transfer Gossip, Beckham to Leicester City?
Sven Goran Eriksson, the newly appointed Leicester City boss has been reported to show interest in David Beckham. Eriksson is planning to get Beckham on a loan from LA Galaxy that is if Beckham and LA Galaxy agree to the move, which will be highly unlikely.
The former England manager has the full support of the Asian owners, who have already contacted the American club in order to convince them to let their star player join Leicester City for a short spell. The request comes during the MLS off season and it
remains to be seen if it is accepted.
An inside source revealed, “Sven thinks he has a chance and he is a very smooth operator when it comes to these things.” Smooth operator indeed, Sven has not managed to retain a job after the England job and bringing Beckham to Leicester City may be his
way of trying to retain his current job.
However Beckham is not the only man on the interesting transfer list as there is forward from La Furia Roja who continues to draw the attention of the world.
Manchester City are interested in Fernando Llorente, the Athletic Bilbao and Spanish international striker. City have already made enquiries about a possible move in summer and are facing competition by Real Madrid, who are also following the progress of
the 25 year old.
In the last three games the Spaniard has scored three goals for club and country and has an efficiency rating of a goal or assist every 151.5 minutes, an impressive ranking. Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona have also shown interest and the youngster
said he was flattered by the attention.
He told reporters recently, “It's a compliment that they are interested in me, that means I'm doing things right.” His contract with Athletic Bilbao ends in 2013, but a move to Europe’s elite may come sooner than expected. His estimated value is at around
£30 million at the moment but if his form grows then a few more bundles of paper are bound to be added.
Everyone is trying to take advantage of the winter transfer window but perhaps it will be the Professor from North London who still has quite a lot to spend from the summers who might be making a big purchase. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is up to his old
tricks again, he is once again chasing after young blood. The Frenchman is known for signing and developing young players, this time his target is 15 year old Seri Samper, currently at Barcelona.
Sources reveal that Wenger is ready to offer the youngster a four year deal in order to lure him away from the Nou Camp. Samper has been told that his chances of first team football will be better with the Gunners therefore he is considering the offer.
