Transfer Gossip: Newcastle United's Andy Carroll wanted at Chelsea
Newcastle United's ace striker and overall footballing sensation, Andy Carroll is reported to be the most wanted player at Stamford Bridge.
Carlo Ancelotti is reported to have grown frustrated with the poor run that the Chelsea side are going through at the moment and as a result is looking to bring the young striker to Chelsea to try and turn things around.
Carroll is reported to be open to a move away from the team, as he has grown rather frustrated at the situation at Newcastle. The player was left infuriated as the team manager Chris Hughton was sacked out of the blue by owner Mike Ashley.
The twenty one year old striker has made the most of his time at Newcastle and has even gone on to represent England on the international stage. Considering he is still only twenty one years old, it just goes to show how good he really is and the fact that
the talent he possesses is far greater than that which meets the eye at first.
Chelsea were rumoured to have wanted to make a bid for the towering striker in the past, but were turned down by the player as he expressed his desire about staying at Newcastle, since he felt he owed the team for making him the player that he is today.
However, thanks to the recent developments that have taken place at the club, all of this seems to have changed as Carroll is reported to be looking for a move away from the club himself.
Experts are estimating the deal to be worth around ten million pounds for Chelsea to sign the player on permanent basis.
Chelsea are currently in desperate need of a quality striker who can take over the reins of the team once Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, who are both in their mid thirties, call it quits on their careers.
With Carroll being often referred to as a young British Drogba, it is only fitting that he is the player who takes over as Drogba's heir at the Stamford Bridge.
