Transfer Rumors: July 12, 2010, Arsene wenger says no to Barcelona, Schweinsteiger not married to Bayern

Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has rejected Barcelona’s attempts to set up a potential meeting with the Arsenal officials. The new Barcelona president Sandro Rosell travelled to South Africa to set up with Wenger, but he refused to go ahead with the meeting. The topic of discussion for the meeting was the future of Arsenal’s captain, Cesc Fabregas. Wenger had already made it clear on numerous occasions before that he was not willing to let go of the player under any circumstance.

Bayern Munich’s talismanic midfielder, Bastin Schweinsteiger has revealed that he is willing to move out of Germany. He has said that the idea of a transfer away from his home country excites him and he is willing to go through with it if a suitable offer is made. He has also gone ahead and said that he is not married to Bayern Munich, which is something the top European clubs will be looking into. The twenty five year old has just had a spectacular run in this year’s World Cup and will be looking to keep that form alive through out his club performances this coming season.

Brazilian striker, Alexandre Pato has said he wishes to stay at the San Siro. This has come as an alarm to most European clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester City who were looking to potentially sign the forward this transfer window.

Mesut Ozil has shunned away a possible transfer out of Germany, by pledging his future to Werder Bremen. The twenty one year old who was one of the driving forces behind Germany’s World Cup campaign had attracted much attention from clubs all over Europe, but he has put the possibility of moving to rest for now. However if a big money offer comes, Werder Bremen may find it hard to retain the player at the club.

Maicon, who currently plays for Inter Milan and is an influential figure in the Brazilian squad, has claimed he is happy at Inter Milan and does not wish to leave anytime in the near future. The Brazilian was rumored to join former manager Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid but he has managed to put those rumors to bed.

Sergio Aguero, has gone public and admitted that he would love a move to the Premier League. The Argentine had a disappointing run in at the World Cup by not being given much match time. Chelsea are considered favorites to land the players signature but with the deep pockets of Manchester City prowling around, anything can happen.

Arsene Wenger has claimed that he has no desire of signing Gourcuff. The French play maker was rumored to be on his way to Arsenal to join former team mate Chamakh, who completed his move to the Emirate as a free transfer at the start of the transfer window. Chamakh and Gourcuff played together in Bordeaux. Wenger has however revealed his admiration for Dutch midfielder, Wesley Sneijder. Sneijder who has been nothing short of fantastic with club and country this past term, hasn’t yet ruled out a move to join Arsenal.
