Transfer Rumors: July 17, 2010, Chelsea bid big for Torres, Vidic wants to leave

Most people assumed that when, Hodgson said that Liverpool would not sell Gerrard and Torres, teams would stop bidding for them. That would have been an accurate assumption if everyone questioned about it was from the ballet class of 99'.
The Sun has reported that Chelsea have gone ahead and are preparing a bid estimated to be around fifty million pounds for Torres, after a forty million pound bid was turned down by the club. A source at Stamford Bridge is quoted to have said, "It's true Liverpool have knocked back the first bid of £40m but it's highly unlikely that will be the end to it. Let's see what happens when an offer of £50m lands on Christian Purslow's desk."
The chances of Ashley Cole moving to Madrid have dropped tremendously. The Spanish club say that they are not willing to pay the thirty million that Chelsea are asking for ht player. So Ashley Cole might just end up staying in England after all.
According to The Sun, Nemanja Vidic has pleaded desperately to be allowed to leave Old Trafford and join Madrid. The deal is estimated to be worth around eighteen million pounds if completed. Vidic’s wife has also repeatedly expressed her desire to move to a place where it doesn’t rain as often while Vidic would personally be looking to make some increments in his pay.
Manchester City are apparently succumbing to the pressure from Aston Villa over Milner. They are willing to increase their bidding price to around twenty five million pounds which when you look at it is a fairly accurate estimate of how much the player is worth. The high price might just convince Aston Villa to part ways with the player. Having already signed left back, Aleksandar Kolarov for seventeen million, City are hoping Wolfsburg will drop their initial estimate on the forty million pound price tad they have set on Edin Dzeko.
Inter Milan president, Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Manchester City have contacted him over Mario Balotelli. City were reported to have bid around twenty five million euro’s for the player. The Inter president however has denied possessing any knowledge of a formal offer being presented to the club.
Real Madrid are planning on using Dutch Wing back Royston Drenthe as bait to lure Khedira. The Spanish club plan on making a money plus player season long deal with Stuttgart for their midfielder Khedira. Khedira has had an outstanding World Cup with Germany and it was assumed that it wouldn’t be long before the top European teams would step in to sign the player. The deal is estimated to be around ten million Euros but would include Drenthe going to the German club for a season long deal.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become irritated with rumors linking him out of the Camp Nou. He has said that he has no intention of leaving the Catalan club and wishes to spend the remainder of his five year contract at the club.
