Transfer Rumors: July 27th 2010, Mascherano wants out, Parker to replace him
Javier Mascherano has apparently called it quits and now wants to end his time at Liverpool. The argentine midfielder managed to make it to Liverpool’s training grounds on Monday for the first time since the end of the World Cup. Apparently the first thing he did when he got there was that he went to in from Roy Hodgson that he wished to leave the club. Inter are rumored to be readying a bid of around twenty five million pounds, but with the Fabregas deal falling out, Barcelona re set to step in and maybe make a bid for the midfielder. It is safe to say that Mascherano will be on his way out one way or another.
With Mascherano on his way out, Hodgson will be looking to replace him with another hard tackling tough midfielder. According to The Times, 'Sulley Muntari has been cited as a possible makeweight in any deal between Liverpool and Inter, but Hodgson is also an admirer of Scott Parker, who was pursued by the club in January only for lack of funds to curtail their interest. West Ham have made it clear that Parker is not for sale, but should Liverpool follow up their interest with a concrete offer, it is believed that Parker would be keen to be given the opportunity to discuss a potential move.''Inter are prepared to throw in ex-Portsmouth star Sulley Muntari as a makeweight.
'Hodgson, though, sees West Ham and England battler Scott Parker as another alternative should Argy Mascherano pack his bags - and SunSport revealed yesterday Hammers fear talk over Parker's future could see their star man ask to go.'
Mario Balotelli is more than certainly on his way to Manchester City. The deal may be concluded within the next forty eight hours with City willing to pay as much as thirty million pounds for his services. There is a small problem though, City are willing to pay the desired transfer fee but are unwilling to pay the ridiculous wage that the player is demanding. They feel three million pounds a year is a little too much for the teenager.
Another transfer deal that could be concluded in the near future is a move for Ramires to Chelsea from Benfica. The deal is rumored to be concluded as early as next week. According to the Guardian, 'Ramires will discuss the proposed transfer with Benfica's directors and he is expected to move to west London for £16.8m. The Portuguese club would also be entitled to performance-related bonuses,''The deal has not yet been concluded and Benfica would like to discuss Chelsea including players in part-exchange.'
It would seem more then appropriate for Arsenal to let their number one keeper leave, considering he has had more than a terrible time at Arsenal. From the looks of things Almunia could be on his way back to Spain, sooner rather than later. It appears like his former club, Osasuna have rekindeld their love for the player and want to see him back playing for them. According to The Daily Mail, 'Manuel Almunia is wanted by his first club Osasuna, a transfer which could rekindle Arsenal's move for Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer,'Almunia has been left under no illusions that Arsene Wenger is ready to replace him as No 1. The 33-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid but Wenger may be forced to accept a bargain price for Almunia in order to create the space in his squad for Schwarzer, 37.'
