Transfer Rumors - Pool to Sign Manager, Wenger to Sign Defenders, City to Buy Everyone
Liverpool have finally ended their search for a new manager. According to several newspapers it is reported that they are in talks with Roy Hodgson and are trying to make him their new manager before the England-Slovenia match. The reason for this mad rush to sign the current Fulham manager is due to the uncertainty of Fabio Capello’s current position as England manager.
Real Madrid have told Liverpool that they are unwilling to meet their demands of thirty million pounds and have asked them to drop it down to around twenty, but none of that matters if the Liverpool captain decides against the move and stays at Anfield for another season. Gerrard is quoted to have said “It is possible that I’ll be in Madrid next season. I’m aware of the club’s offer so maybe we’ll see each other in Madrid. I can’t say anymore. I’m just concentrating on the World Cup. My agent is looking after it all”.
Manchester United are in line for launching a shock fifteen million euro bid for Chilean, Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez who currently plays for the Italian side ‘Udinese’, caught the eye’s of Sir Alex and since then has been under his radar. They hope Sanchez would provide the flair down the wings that Valencia has failed to provide all season long.
Reports have flown in that Joe Cole has told his friends that he wishes to join United over Arsenal. So apparently Arsenal might be losing the race to sign another injury prone attacking midfield player.
Arsenal may finally sign Laurent Koscielny from the French side ‘Lorient’. The move has shaped up nicely since Arsenal youngster Francis Coquelin has agreed to a deal for joining Lorient. Arsenal have also shown interest to Evertons, Phil Jagielka and Pape Diakhate from Dynamo Kiev.
Silva is apparently all set to join Manchester City for a whopping twenty nine million pounds with a salary in the region of a hundred and sixty thousand a week. Having been after his signature for a while now, the club is confident that finally the time is right for the deal to go through, and they are hoping to get their man before the World Cup is over.
Yaya Toure is proposed to join City from Barcelona for twenty seven million. City’s medical team is reported to have flown into South Africa to examine Yaya’s physical condition. The move is expected to be completed within a week or two with the twenty seven year old willing to commit on a four year contract worth ninety thousand a week.
Roberto Mancini has also said that he wants to pursue the capture of Milner from Aston Villa as soon as the World Cup is over, having already been rejected initially over an offer of twenty million by Villa. City will have to beef up on that if they stand any chance of capturing their man. However it doesn’t stop there, Mancini has said that he also wishes to buy a right back and at least one more world class striker before the start of the next season.
