Transfer Rumours: 30th July 2010, Mark Hughes is official, Young says no deal to Liverpool
Mark Hughes has finally been confirmed as the new Fulham manager. Everyone seems to think that it is the best decision that the club could have made. Hughes has apparently gotten straight to work after being appointed. He is currently looking to bring in three Manchester City want aways, Stephen Ireland, Craig Bellamy and Rouque Santa Cruz. Steve Sidwell is all set to join Fulham, but apparently that deal took place even before Hughes was appointed. He is currently looking for Hughes’s approval before he finally makes the move official.
According to The Daily Star, Young has refused to take a pay cut and in doing so has refused a move to Liverpool. Young apparently receives forty seven thousand pounds a week at Aston Villa and has refused to earn thirty seven thousand a week. There are two things that need to be noted here, the first that, Young has turned down Liverpool, which might just be a new all time low for the club and the second is that he earns, forty seven thousand a week. This is probably why players like Yaya Toure feel like they deserve over two hundred thousand a week.
Some more news for Liverpool fans is that, David Ngog has decided to stay at the club. According to Roy Hodgson, "I have been very impressed with him. I think Ngog has worked very hard in training and has done very well in the pre-season games, and he crowned his hard work with an impressive performance."
"The goals will be a big weight off him mind, and give him confidence. Front players need goals, and he has got them, which means he can relax. He has shown us that he has the movement and touch, and quality, and I'm pleased for him."
However most Liverpool fans will be caught between feeling happy and indifferent at the same time. Because having the player at the club would be nice considering the club will have more strike options upfront but then again, its Ngog.
Tottenham are looking to lure Ashley Cole away from Villa Park, but they wish to offer players instead of money for the player. The players that they are willing to part with are, Jenas, Keane and Bentley. They are willing to exchange all three players for Ashley Young. Aston Villa were initially demanding thirty million for the player, but Tottenham felt that the price was a little too high which is why they have offered the three players whose transfer fee when accumulated would be roughly around the region of thirty million.
Robinho is currently all set to be making his way back to the Eastlands this coming season. The player was previously all set to join Santos, but the deal took a major blow when City demanded thirty three million for the player. That’s a price that Santos cannot afford to pay for the player. According to Robinho’s agent, "Unfortunately, this will probably be Robinho's last game at Vila Belmiro. Manchester City have already told me and Santos they want him back after the end of the loan."
This means that Robinho will be joining the start studded roster of City this coming season, unless someone else with the appropriate amount of money makes a swoop for the player. Chances are really low of that happening since most teams have other priorities at the current moment in time, but anything can happen during this transfer window season.
