Transfer Rumours: July 29th 2010, Beckham to West Ham, Spurs try to be cheeky for Bellamy
The most shocking of transfers is scheduled to take place in January. That is if West Ham are a club to be trusted. According to the officials at West Ham they have almost agreed to a deal with David Beckham to have him playing for the team starting January, during the off days of the MLS. Beckham missed out on the World Cup in South Africa due to an injury to his Achilles and has since not played much football. Apparently he wants to play as much as he can before he finally decides to hang his boots up once and for all.
Petrov is apparently all set to make the move to the Merseyside and replace the outgoing Mascherano. This move has only materialized due to the fact that Mascherano is almost more than certain to be on his way out, which would result in Roy Hodgson making a seven million pound bid for Petrov and bring the player to Anfield.
Luke Young was on the verge of completing a move to Anfield, however the move seems to have stalled up, with the player demanding some compensation from Villa before agreeing to move to Liverpool and taking a major pay cut. According to Martin O’Neil, "He is having a think about it. If he chooses to go that's it, if he chooses to stay then he needs to start playing because with the new rules I have to name a 25-man squad for the Premier League."
Tottenham have takes the cheeky route and made an outrageous four million pound bid for Craig Bellamy. Most people would have stopped to read that again but yes the club has made an official four million pound bid for Bellamy. They did so because they felt that Manchester City were so desperate to get rid of the player that they would accept any offer for him without looking at the numerical value of it.
Hard tackling midfielders are turning out to be a rarity and a valuable commodity these days. It isn’t surprising that Rosenberg’s, Ghanaian midfielder, Anthony Annan, is now considered to be one of the most sought after players in the world of football. According to The Sun, teams like, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are hot on the trail of the player and are looking to snap him up the first chance that they get. According to the players again, "We're expecting one of the top English clubs to try to sign him", "That's what Anthony wants."
Manchester United are on the verge of singing another unknown, Danish goalkeeper. The last time they did so things turned out rather nicely for the keeper and the club. According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are going to try and have the same success they had with Peter Schmeichel with, Andres Lindegaard, who currently plays for Norwegian club team, Aalesunds. The twenty six year old keeper is set to move to Old Trafford to be a direct replacement for Ben Foster who joined Birmingham earlier this transfer season.
